X flares galore!

Blimey!

Another big X flare just went off from AR2192. That is like three X class flares in the last day and a half at least. 

Lots of power locked up in this one and with it rotating to the edge of the disc we could be in for a once in a cycle show.

Stay tuned, keep your eyes on the sun or gong network if you can.

Sounds fantastic its just a pity I cannot see it   thick grey cloud cover at the moment , hopefully it will get better soon

The huge filament seems to be getting longer also, I cant begin to guess how long it is.

I use "Solar Monitor" on my IPhone but I am pretty sure its available on android.

Got my ls60 trained on the sun, managed to see the flare but as its receding (through gaps in the low cloud).

That's a total of 5 X class flares now.

I've read that a lot of the surrounding penumbra is in decay BUT there are 5 delta spots within the group and 3 are getting bigger (which means plenty more action)

Seems a bit quieter today, not as confident about predicting one but anything can happen so scope is at the ready just in case.

It is officially partly cloudy here so hopefully if anything happens it is in a gap.

Looks like we might have to keep an eye on AR2205 too, it just let a large M flare off.

Quite bright but seeing here is pants.
