I've been shown some weird, and to be honest a little far fetched ideas for astronomy, but I'm not sure whether this maybe more valuable than it looks ..... Perhaps its a case of only in America..... :lol:

I tried observing in a cap, and the peak kept hitting the eyepiece.... :?

If you are thinking of that type of torch the just go down the local

hardwear store and get a head torch (like the miners have) they only

cost about a fiver and put some red film over it.

No gimic just common sense.

There were a few people with head lamps at the star party I went to. Most people just hang a red torch around their necks. I have my accessory tray light to help when I'm messing with eps, and I can usually see the focuser well enough to change eps. One of the problems with head lamps is that if they are aimed in such a way as to be useful to you, any time you turn to talk to someone, you shine the light right in their eyes.
