NEQ6 with Syscan working

Had same trouble but after few trials and frustration finally got NEQ6 all aligned last night and set up for a short viewing session. Nice view M31 and Ring nebula and scope went to almost the right spot, still needed to move to centre of Eyepiece with controller but at least in view. guess I need to work on the alignment bit better. Great feeling seeing what you tell it to Goto and seeing it :)

There is probably a way of getting it to goto X with the result a bit off centre, then you centering it and telling it that X is now in the centre.

On a Meade it is termed Sync.

Means that at the next goto then that object should be better centered.

Goto may not be perfect for various reasons, including not using a sufficiently high power eye piece or reticle eye piece when doing a star alignment, potentially poor balancing, backlash (always end moves with up and right or other combination), or cone error (are you using a one, two or three star alignment?).

Yes, you can centre an object after the star alignment and use the PAE fuction; i centre object, press escape once, press and hold escape and an object name flashes, and then centre and select enter, this apparently improves the goto accuracy for that and adjacent regions of the sky.

You don't say what the focal length of your scope is, if >1500 then it sounds like your goto is pretty good :)
