Chrome not working

Cured all my problems re. Chrome by installing *Adblock Plus* !! :)

I think there is an underlying problem. I suspect the proliferation

of embedded advertising videos (even amidst text) at some sites.

Coincidentally, my "normal" internet use resulted in a surcharge

from my ISP last month. (I close down embedded videos anyway).

The irony is that the biggest offender (advert and spyware count)

is a well known news site which ever castigates "the rest of us" --

the world(?) for trolling, invasive surveillance, corporate greed...  :p

Doesn't Adblock plus allow 'premium' adds through? Basically companies that pay to not get blocked.

Auto play Facebook movies are a terrible bandwidth hog, not that I look at FB much anyway.

Certainly appears there is a huge (HUGE as in 200 pages) ASCII list of exemptions...

But it seems to have cured the tendency of Opera to become unusable after a

few page views of a certain website. Either way, only installed "recently" and

over 5000 ads blocked now. Seems fairly non-destructive in the trying. :)
