stacking lunar dslr images question

How does one go about stacking lunar tiff images?  Wouild R5 be an appropriate program.....or???

Reg 5.1 works well , but I would use PIPP to centre , crop and sort followed by AS!2 for stacking.

Emil has made the new beta version adjustable so that you can change the box size to fit DSLR frames now , it does a better and quicker job of stacking.

I posted a thread a while back regarding changing the settings , I'll try and find it for you.

Sorry to thread jack! Steve when you say use pipp to 'sort' what box do you tick for this as there's a few options?

Can't help on that one I'm afraid , I just deal with Mono as far as Lunar and Solar stuff is concerned ...

In the middle tab "Quality Options"  , select either "number of frames" or "percentage of frames" as marked in Red in the pics below.

I generally just save 25% of the frames as per the default but you can adjust up or down to suit ...

These days I output in AVI , whether I'm using AVIs or TIFFs in , just makes for a quicker process in AS!2 I find , and no loss of detail ...

Great stuff thanks mate. If I recall, when outputting in AVI there is 3 options in a sub menu, raw UDNG etc I think??
