diy go to telescope

Recommended Posts

I would advise going for the Orion 14" that is already computerised  ... http://www.scsastro.co.uk/catalogue/orion-skyquest-xx14i-intelliscope-truss-donsonian.htm

You'll be losing a couple of inches of aperture but gaining the Go-To for a good price.

i came across this a few days ago, fully computerized mount with a 14 inch aperture for only 1600 its great value, i need to start saving penny's

The Orion Intelliscope range isn't a true go to. The mount has encoders and a handset but no motors. The mount has to be pushed-to manually using the direction cues given by the handset.
