focusing adaptor

Having had a major moment focusing with my 2" eyepiece ,

I went and purchased an adaptor, bearing in mind when the eyepiece slotted in the focuser without an adaptor,

 the focuser being full out, another cm and we would have  been focused ,

with adaptor in and the focuser right in it needed about a cm that way ,so was still out of focus.

the adaptor came out, focuser fully out I  slotted in eyepiece

pulled eyepiece out cm or so and hey it was in focus.

I would rather have an adaptor in there,so will look for a shorter one.

You don't give any details of equipment so it's difficult to offer any opinions on the issue.

I don't know your scope/lens but this article suggests that the focuser will give the extra travel needed.

its a 1200 mm f/4.7

Don't forget that the SW 2" adapters come in different lengths for different scopes. (probably the same with other brands).

I had a heck of a problem until I realized why I could not focus due to mixed up adapters.

You need one specific for your telescope.
