Hi Greg, I've gone for a similar gadget to the Telrad, but a lot lot cheaper....

Wanna tell us about it? I thought if I could get a ring-and-bead site off a Sopwith Camel, that would make a pretty good 1x finder. I've seen scopes with rifle sights, and the finder that came with my Meade had a hole in the stem than you could look through to get the scope into the ball park. I have a red-dot finder that I got for US$20 at the CSSP last year. I like it.

A friend of mine has the Rigel Quikfinder. He really likes it. If you didn't know what it was, you'd have trouble guessing it was a finder, but I've used it on his scope, and it works well. I'm not a fan of the Telrad, but that may be blind prejudice, plus the fact that people who have them always look so darned smug.

So, what is your cheaper Telrad clone?
