Guiding near the zenith

So i finally figured out that the objects i've been imaging that were giving me a lot of trouble as far as guiding goes have all been at or near the zenith when i was imaging them. A google search and a lot of reading, has shown that it isn't just me suffering from this so i'm a little more relaxed about it now that i know i'm not alone with this. As i'm planning on upgrading my mount in the not too distant future from my trusty Vixen GP to something in the class of an AZ EQ6 GT or CEM60 that'll suit this 10" scope better, how do these mounts fare in this situation?

Dave

I've just recently changed my mount from a CGEM to the AZ EQ6 GT mount.

The few times I've managed to get out, I've had no problem guiding at or near zenith.

I did look at several choices before I purchased and took the advice of my local dealer on what was good for my budget.

I'm pleased with the mount and it is quiet.

Good luck with your search.
