I hit Saturn on my first ever telescope a few years ago, and my first night viewing. Was just randomly aiming the finder at a few bright stars and looking through the eyepiece. Just another star in the finder..... Pop my eye to the eyepiece.

.......Wow!!!! Saturn, purely by chance. Blew my mind.

Finally good enough conditions to see Saturn through my new 8mm vixen npl eyepiece although there was atmospheric blurring the image quality and visibility from the stock 10mm super is amazing. first time ive seen clear banding and good separation of the rings definitely a massive WOW day for me with Saturn :)
