let me see your grab and go set up

And here's its longer fl brother, the f6.6 Stowaway on a Universal Astronomics Unistar Light Deluxe on a Gitzo series 5 tripod. Heavier than the other setup but still reasonable for a grab n go and is a nice scope for binoviewing. I also use this setup daytime with a Daystar University 0.6A H-a solar filter.

Here is a 105mm f5.8 on an older Gibraltar mount. The older mount has a different head, not the Telepod head on the newer ones, and I prefer it because it has a larger alt bearing and the scope sits lower so lower cog.

Two scopes I enjoy for grab & go are our Telementor and 3.5" Maksutov. The little refractor takes a bit longer to set up, but is a joy to use. The Mak is a true Grab & Go, weighing in at less than 7 kg's for scope with tripod.

Is that a Questar mak?  Also, what a cracking location you are in.  Well jel!

An early 1970's Questar, and the location is a favourite spot up on a nearby mountain. About 30" in front of the scope there's a shear drop off of a few hundred feet; when the wind picks up, it's time to leave.
