What part of the Moon do you return to view most,,,,,,

I have a Luna 100 list (Charles A wood version) in my diaries and I generally tick-off areas that I have visited each year

whilst our sattellite is stopping me looking for DSOs. There are many facinating areas and Landmarks on the Moon which

when near the terminator can take the breath away but I have noticed that the area I tend to visit far more than the rest Is

the Aristarchus Plateau and Schroters Valley to Mons Rumker across from this.

I think this is because they not only look great, but are direct veiws of Luna's volcanic past.

Is there a particular part of the Luna Surface that you find you most often Observe ?

Hiya Mick,

I don't really have one special target, but I do like looking around Plato and the Alpine valley

I find it all rather fascinating and intriguing. I am sure I see structures on it at times

My favourite lunar places are:

- The Alpine Valley

- Plato

- Rupes Recta (The Straight Wall)

- Rima Hyginus and the nearby Rimae Triesnecker

- Messier A & B

- The big craters such as Copernicus and Tycho

All the usual tourist attractions in other words !!!

The terminator is the line where the dark meets the light side, this is the best

part to observe, mainly because the shadows give you a 3D view, the bright

side looks quite flat.

My favorites are around Sinus Iridum, and also the Apennine Mountains, the

shadows give spectacular views, but I love all parts of the Moon, such a great

target overall.
