First time here, I can see me doing a lot of reading here. Just bought my first Dobsonian (8"/200mm Skywatcher) 2 weeks ago. Of course the sky has been overcast ever since I got it.

Hi Neonblade, a warm welcome from me in Blighty, that's a great scope you have there, they all come packed with clouds, I am afraid!

G'day mate and welcome to sgl from an (ex) Sydney sider now living in the uk. Trust me mate, you've got nothing to worry about regards cloud. If you don't believe me, just read the "when will this weather end?" thread...it's been going for months :). Beautiful part of the east coast your living too by the way.

Greetings Byron Bay and welcome from Tiree, a dark (and often very cloudy) island off the west coast of Scotland. I hope that you get as much interest and enjoyment from this site as I do.

Hi Neonblade and welcome to SGL.

Spent a few days at Byron Bay, visiting friends, in December 2012.

It was overcast then, but the beauty of that area made up for it.

Great scope by the way!
