Yes got hookup and some serious warm clothing amd sleeping arrangements good to -17c if you need fresh air welcome to a brew at our base camp. Taking heating too. Expecting to socialise a lot so will be up for that and a brew in your caravan. I'll catch you this Sunday if you're down for the lecture.

Hi Folks,

Just to remind you that the Galloway SP starts on Sunday 16th November.

Mike, Reg and myself will be arriving at the camp site.

Looking forward to dry weather with crystal clear nights to benefit from the really dark skies of Kirkinner.

Sainsbury's are currently selling a yard of Jaffa Cakes for £3.

Getting gear ready.

Cheers

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Your right it is not far off now  . Unfortunately i will only be arriving late on the Thursday morning, probably closer to lunchtime. I so hope it is cold (read clear skies). Really looking forward to meeting new faces.

Just to allay any fears ,do not worry if the date Adrian gives of the start of Galloway as Sun 16th ----the STARCAMP OFFICIAL DATES are Wednesday 19th November thru Monday 24th November 2014-------a few of us are going up earlier,if any one wants to book a longer stay outside of the official dates please feel free to contact Lesley Shell at  the campsite as to the availability .

The weather hopefully will be kind to us,the leccy pitches are nearly gone, still plenty of non-leccy for the diehards among us----bring warm clothing/wet weather gear---there is a very good warm room on site.

Any last minute questions just ask

See you all soon

Regards

Mike

Hi Alan,

Great to hear that you can come early.

I also try to make a week of it owing to the round trip of 800 miles.

Three of us will be joining you on Sunday.

Have a safe trip. The A75 from Gretna Green to Newton Stewart has more camera speed vans than London.

Remember it will be getting dark earlier than down south.

Cheers

Adrian

Cheers for the tip Adrian

I'll be traveling over night, i reckon with a stop i'm looking around 8/9 hrs so I'll be leaving midnight fri/sat morning looking to get there about 9am. I want to get there set up and then i'll hit the sack.

As for the site and the surrounding area......

Is there a shop on site? I'm just thinking about the food shop and the perishables, bread, milk etc or do i need to pack as much as i can

There isn't a shop but wigtown is a short drive away and someone will probably be going daily if you need anything picking up
