Hi John

On your way down could you take a wee detour to the borders?

Just a few things to take for me and my pal Tom.

If you could then possibly get the tent up for our arrival and have a couple of cold beers ready, that would be great !

Many thanks in advance

Hi Mike,

Are you going to Galloway? I have booked already. I know you are only down the road, but it would be good to meet up. I have yet to decide what equipment I will take but we might be able to share transport. Mmmmmm, no after reading your last posts and based on the amount of equipment that I usually take there will not be enough room

Hi Mike,

Reg has booked a tent with electric from Wednesday onwards.

It looks like there will be a goodly group at Galloway.

Hi John,

On the question of fresh water fishing, there are a number of good rivers in the Galloway area.

The only question is that the main trout and salmon season finishes just before we arrive.

There is also a fish conservation regime on the river Cree.

Plenty of opportunity for sea fishing though.......

Cheers

For anyone who didn't attend last years star party or for anyone who's thinking about attending this years if you can't make your mind up then watch this video I made from last year and see the amazing fun it has to offer.

Hi Jamie,

You have picked a great location, event and an excellent, friendly, helpful bunch of people for your first star party.

The skies there are stupendous on a dark, clear night.

They have some of the darkest skies in the UK.

Shared meals, whiskey tasting sessions on those cloudy nights.

I travel 800 miles round trip for the skies.....

Lesley and Ralph the owners could not be better hosts.

Looking forward to meeting up.

Cheers

Adrian

Hi stu,

Contacted lesley and will be booking a spot on site, looking forward to it as this will be first starparty, any suggestions from all would be great.

Jamie

A decent sleeping bag would be a good idea

Can get a bit chilly that time of year. (was really cold on Saturday night last year !!)

So plenty of warm clothes is a must.

Also good "red light" routine once we settle down for the evening is always appreciated.
