M51 with 130PDS

Recommended Posts

Hi,

here is my go at M51 with the 130pds and the SXV-H9.

Details:

L=19x10m (taken during full moon, horrible gradients, sort of fixed with some aggressive dbe in Pixinsight)

R=9x5m, B=12x5m, G=15x5m (the blue is really strong for this one!)

Ha=12x20m

Filters: LRGB-Baader, Ha-5nm Astrodon.

PhD2 (I like the control on Declination with the new PhD2!)

Eqmac for driving the Heq5, Nebulosity for acquisition and PI for processing.

High resolution in Astrobin: get.jpg

Comments welcome, thanks for looking!

cheers

E.

Thats superb for the focal length, this little scope can clearly do galaxies as well as widefield work, great job! :)

Thanks for the feedback!

I think the background had a red tint, this new version is supposed to have that neutralized. I also tamed the blue a little bit since it seemed too much...

I didn't even notice the red before I was so busy looking at the galaxy resolution, but yes I think you've cracked it with the second version plus the colour in the galaxy looks more natural, nice one you must be very pleased with it now :)
