IC443 - Jelly Fish Neb- 8-02-08 - Atik 16HR

Had another go tonight , this time using the Atik 16HR , Ha and OIII filters

8X8mins for each filter and a synthesised green. Not much time tonight so only 64mins for each filter.

130mm APO , F4.8 , Next clear night longer subs in the 10 to 12min range.

Got some really good detail in the head of the Jelly John, good stuff mate , old Jelly getting a bashing lately ehhehehe .

I must admit Rog , I am getting a bit fed up of it myself. After this image I think one last go with longer subs. I am trying to find the optimum exposure time with Ha filters. Still not sure what it is. The longer the better ?

John, this is a swine of an object for some reason but you have captured some nice detail here - good luck with the longer subs.

It's funny how some objects cause problems and lead to personal disappointment - yet again, I have given up with the Heart Nebula tonight and have decided to give it a miss in future even though I had planned a stunning Valentine's Day card for my wife featuring it!

That's a corker John. Lots of fine detail and doesn't look too noisy. Have you thought how you will combine subs of different lengths?
