Solar Prom alert

Recommended Posts

For those folks with an early morning view, there is a very large looping prom at the 2 o.clock NW position this morning. Will be worth looking at if you get the chance.

It may linger for a while, but as its on the NW limb, it will be dissappearing soon.

Missed the large prominence but caught a C class flare in the leading section of AR2036 in progress at 0851 UT.  Started to fade 0859 and ended 0907 UT.

7 small prominences counted.  Most filaments faint except broad filament to northeast of AR2033 and strongish filament to south of AR2034.

Blimey you sound like a solar scientist.

Thanks for the heads up, Allan :)

I just caught it this morning, a rushed session before work after your heads-up. Not just big, but a beautiful ring, I think it was one of the nicest proms I've seen so far.
