HEQ5/Orion Sirius belt drive modification

Just fitted the belt drive modification from Rowan Astronomy.

My mount is an Orion Sirius and the people at Rowan weren't sure if it would fit as it is advertised for a HEQ5 but offered a full money back if it didn't.

It DOES fit and fits beautifully. This is really well designed and engineered. The new ratios are the same as the gears so you can retain the handset if you want to. Took 40 minutes to fit from start to finish.

Almost silent in operation - no awful noise from the gears meshing and no detectable backlash - a really worthwhile upgrade.

They also have a page of astro '[removed word]' - http://rowanastronomy.com/productsa3.htm#eq56weights

Glad they learned from your experience ... I contacted them today about the same issue (Sirius mount) and they were quick to answer that it would work ;)

Only thing is that the spacer is white and the mount is black :( I was thinking of painting it ... do you have any pictures of the end result ?
