Flattener Artifact ?

Took this rubbish pic of Comet Lovejoy this morning in between its appearance over neigbouring houses and Sunrise.

Trying out WO 110FLT with WO IV Flattener/ Reducer and 60Da and stars are a strange shape, is this due to spacing of the F/R/F ?

It isn't flattener spacing. I would say you've had guiding errors in one axis (whichever one was orientated vertically in this image.) If I'm right the errors were fast and quickly corrected so that the stars created little lines rather than blobs. If your camera wasn't orientated along RA and Dec then it won't be this because te errors are aligned with the chip.

It could be an intrusion into the lightpath but the usual suspects are the lens clips which usually come in threes rather than twos.
