Broke down and brought me a new Celetron CG-5 mount.... no are no longer made. Got with 2 year warrenty 619.00 dollars. I no bring on the clouds.......yep am excited, my first new mount ever.....will retire the ole meade ldx75.

I think the CG-5 is very similar to the LXD75. Very similar loading limits I believe and both have 2" steel tubed tripod legs. I assume for the price you have paid that the CG-5 is the GOTO version ?. It may be a little more intuitive to use than the LXD75 GOTO system.

Yes they are similar, however the LXD75 parts can longer be found. Parts can still be had for the Celetron CG-5. Beening worrying about the motors on the LDX75 for sometime now.

Meade is proberly having a bit of "shake up" or restructure of operation, following the past years events. I know trying to source spares from them direct is or can be a 'pain in the a***!' at times.
