So Lonely Moon! - March 4th, 2014

The Moon struck me as looking rather lonely last night, which is when I took this image. I think it must dream of moving to Saturn or Jupiter. I guess some of the DSO folks would help it pack its bags :grin:

I used my grab-and-go non-tracking mount and captured 2,500 frames as the moon drifted over my video camera's sensor. I stacked about 700 of the piccies, and used a red filter.

Nice image. I noticed looking through my scope the other night that the larger crater near the bottom (of this image) has a thin dark line extending from the central peak. I guess this is a shadow but couldn't be sure when I saw it, and I see it again here. Lots of interesting features anyway.
