I now have a Meade Autostar mount making its merry way to me

It's nothing flash but for £75 I thought it worth a punt!

I've got until Friday to think of a good reason for it turning up

Pop along to the astronomical society and we can certainly give you some pointers and advice.  We've a few members actively participating in astroimaging.  It will give you the chance to look at some kit up close too as it can be confusing as there is so much stuff available.
