NGC2174/5 - 27-01-07 Atik 16HR Narrow Band Filters

I think I have now got some good data.

Ha - 8 X 8mins , OIII - 10 X 8mins , synthesised Green chan.

130mm APO working at F4.8 ( 0.8 X Focal Reducer) , Atik 16HR.

I think I can improve on the first attempt below and for future objects 10 or 12 min subs look like a good bet.

Well I like the first one better but I aint no imager so it don't count but one day if I get an image out to that standard I will be pretty happy myself

btw the second image is also a cracker but I like the first just a bit more

Personally, I like the second one best. Just a bit more pleasing on my eye. As RA said, I'm not an imager either, nor am I really sure what that object is supposed to look like so my comments are just personal preference.

You don't need to be an imager to know that that is a stunning image. Well done John for sticking at it, certainly was worth the effort. The great thing about combining OIII and Ha is that it really helps pull out the differing areas of nebulosity and you've really suceeded her. The colour enhances that effePersonally I like the colour of the nebula in the second one, but prefer the star colours in the first.
