Well, I managed to get out last night after a few problems (rain, laptop crashing, cloud).

Only did three image runs with the SPC900. This is from the first one.

Which scope did you use?

Very nice result with the SPC again Lee, very nice clean and detailed image.

Perhaps an automated opening and closing system?   It would need to trigger the scope park beforehand to avoid a nasty tube crunching accident or stripped gears on the mount.    Perhaps a little pressure switch cut out as an additional precaution.     Could of course be electronic under manual control, but on balance I'l stick with my handraulic system for now.

The SPC900 is a nice little thing - although I've rehoused mine in a after all the SC mods.

I think I'll keep with the manual roof for now Jake, I can Imagine crushing more than just my scope.

Micheal - I used the Orion Europa 8" scope - it was given to me free by my father-in-law when he found it in France in a barn???
