My first try at astro-imaging, just thought i'd post it for some cheers and/or constructive feedback.

post-34525-0-30754500-1392753927_thumb.j

Canon EOS 1100D, 50mm f1.8 prime lens. 8s non-tracking @ iso 100 from a light polluted city balcony. Contrast enhanced in lightroom.

My balcony is southbound (no view of polaris ever) so i've yet to figure out how to do tracking or setting up a GEM without being able to polar align.

Thank you for watching :)

Great start, next time, try upping the exposure time, you should be fine for upwards of 30 secs without too much trailing, also, try a higher iso.
Take loads more of these images and then put them through DeepSkyStacker, that should give lots more detail.
Regards
Lee
