autoguiding meade lxd75 mount

All of this is so new to me so lost. I have a meade lxd75 mount am looking at getting the orion starshoot autoguider camera to autoguide it. Think I understand that I can go thru the autostar 497 handcontroller. Will this work. Is there any thing special I need to do?
