Advice please

Recommended Posts

I need a finderscope and have narrowed it down to

or

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/finders/baader-40mm-super-sky-surfer-v.html

Anyone have experience of the Sky surfer, I have used a straight through 9x50 so know what to expect and found them pretty good for finding stuff just considering the Sky Surfer as an alternative.

Any advice gladly appreciated.

I bought one of these before Christmas on the advice of couple of SGL members only used it a couple of times because of the weather but when i did it was great no stiff neck nice wide field and showed me how the sky looked as i looked at it.

Personally I use a right angle, correct image 9x50 optical finder and a Rigel Quikfinder alongside it. Sometimes I can get by with just the Rigel Quikfinder but often it's good to have both

So I don't think it's a case of either or, really.

Personally my favourite side by side combination of optical finder and red dot finder is a Skywatcher 9*50 RACI and a Baader Sky Surfer V. They complement each other very nicely!
