Baader Semi Apo filter question

Recommended Posts

I am considering getting one of these for my ST102.

Currently i remove the diagonal and attach my DSLR to the focuser directly.

If i got a 2" filter will i be able to have it attached to the focuser but still be able to also attach my camera?

Thanks

Yes, if you have a 2" nosepiece on the DSLR, you can screw it into that. If you have a 1.25" nosepiece on the DSLR, then you'll need a 2"-1.25" adapter with 2" filter thread in the focuser.

At the moment i just use a T adaptor to connect the camera directly to the focuser. Nothing else at all. Will  i need one of these nose pieces or can i have the filter in the focuser and still just attach the camera just using the T adaptor solely as i do now???

I am guessing that when you attach the camera you need to wind out the focusser quite a bit to get focus, what i use is a 2" camera adapter that fits in the 2" focusser it has a T thread at the other end and is threaded for a filter too.

I found these but theres other alternatives. http://www.firstlightoptics.com/adaptors/moonlite-smooth-bore-2-inch-to-t-adaptor.html http://www.firstlightoptics.com/adaptors/william-optics-2-inch-prime-focus-camera-adaptor.html
