Telrad v Rigel ... Advice please?

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone - I have ordered  the Telrad and some cable ties so that I can try it out in different positions before committing to the sticky pads!!

I've left mine on with the cable ties. Stick the stick pads on the base of the mount for the Telrad to cushion it, then using several ties you can fix it round the scope.

It will move, but requires some effort.

Well, inspired by this thread, here's my effort at the dinky Telrad

I decided to keep the batteries inside the box, so downsized from AA to AAA, using 2 seperate battery holders to prevent blocking the projected reticle. I found the wires for the ON/OFF switch would be in the way too so I moved the switch from the side to the end of box. Here's a few pics...

The battery holders are superglued in place to keep them to each side of the box

Finally, the finished shorty Telrad on my 300 Flextube, I used 20mm spacers permanently screwed onto my existing finder shoe to attach the Telrad base - I never use a finderscope!
