Polar scope illuminator mk1

Hi All

as its been a bit of a cloudy few weeks i thought id give making a led to light my polarscope to pass some time so bought a few parts from maplins dusted off my soldering skills a gave it a whirl.

9V battery pack

380 ohm resister

5mm red LED

& a rocker switch

2hrs later mk1 was born bit of a frankenstein but will mod now ive the basic idea

Nice job.

I made a similar light, but I scavenged the bits from a Poundland mini illuminated Christmas tree.

I found I needed to dim the led a bit, so dab a few blobs of black acrylic paint onto it..... low tech solution!

thanks for the idea not managed to pop out yet an see wot its like at nite but could be a lil on the bright side i think
