Off to the Kielder Observatory next week. Accommodation ?

Very excited about my xmas present from the family......can anyone please recommend some nice accommodation for myself and the current Mrs Barnes ?

I stayed here with Mrs_Hog when I was up there a little while back and enjoyed the experience massively.  http://www.kieldercampsite.co.uk/  I think they have mini "hut" type accomodation with water / electricity etc if you don't fancy the tent / sleeping bag experience.  If you go with it though, don't make the mistake we very nearly did of thinking that you can walk up to the observatory from there!  Definitely take the car!

My only downside of the campsite was that the shower rooms were full of spiders...shudder!

Reckon you'll love the observatory though - they've got some lovely kit up there!

Ah, actually having said that I'm not sure that campsite is open this time of year?  The website suggests they close October - March...so that might not have been a very good suggestion for you!  Sorry if that's the case, and hope you find somewhere!
