portability for travel

Ive had a look at the 70mm travelscope from Celestron and accepting the limitations the set up seems compact and idea for travel ie taking abroad etc i was wondering if any one had any opinions regarding taking a pair of bins or this scope on holiday , i have a pair of 15x 70 which are decent allround and when combined with a simple monopod stable enough for a bit of serious gadding around the sky but nor so easy to pack, any views?

Skywatcher do the 'startravel' range of short tube achro refractors (with light weight tripods) with portability and traveling abroad in mind. I have the ST80 OTA as a guide scope which does its job well. He is a link to FLO's startravel range.

I can also recommend the ST80.

I have one mounted on a camera tripod, compact and light weight.
