Software for observers

I am wondering what is the accepted 'best' software that is out there to help or aid viewers in looking after their viewing activities..

I know there are quite a number of products out there and while they all claim they are the best,  I am wondering what we as users think about them.

In particular I am looking for software that will manage and arrange one's viewing activities  where it will give me control over what I am doing and direction as to how I should proceed.

Any input would be appreciated.

I use AstroPlanner. Its very nice. You should check it out.
