Just got me a used cannon 1000D, think 175 was good price, mint condition. Now need to no a little about T-rings, have a Orion skyview pro8 on a meade LXD75 mount. Understand the orion pro 8 is Threaded for a T-ring.....Am lost as to what am I looking for?

You need one of these Canon 'T' rings.

If there turns out not to be a 42mm 'T' thread on your focus tube then you will also need one of these. This second accessory fits in the eyepiece holder and you then screw the first item onto it then attach the camera with its lens removed.

According to the manual for your telescope the eyepiece holder unscrews from the focuser barrel and the supplied camera adaptor that came with the telescope accessory kit with screws onto the focuser barrel in place of the eyepiece holder. The supplied camera adaptor has a "T" thread which will couple to a standard "T/T2" CANON EOS lens coupler.

Thanks for all the help, I did order a orion 5224 t-ring for cannon eos cameras. Hope it works out. Seems the learning never stops.
