A bit confused

Hi, I have a newtonion telescope and I was wondering which way up I am looking at the moon. I am a little confused as to weather it is upside down, left to right or both, ie, east is west and north is south, any help would be much appreciated.

Think it will be upside down but left and right are maintained.

In a newtonian it is upside down, so that North swaps with South and East swaps with Left. Through an SCT with a star diagonal North swaps with South but East and West do not change.

Think of it as rotated 180°. This is handy when you have a 'right-way-up' map of the sky/moon etc as you can just turn the book around so it's upside-down to match what you see at the eyepiece.
