Newbie need help with EP

Part of the catch is that the field of view is dependant on the magnification, with a longish focal length the field of view will always be towards the narrow side.

You have 1200mm FL so if a BST at 25mm and 60 degree you get 1.25 degree, a 32mm or 40mm plossl will give no more.

Not sure what the Panaview's are like, they are 2" fittings.

For f/4.7 you may need a good quality one, a 32mm or 40mm TV plossl is £100 to £110.

ES 82 are the next thought at £140, there is an ES 70 degree: 30mm at £87 or 35mm at £105, Telescope house.

So what budget and how wide a view do you want?

1 to 1.5 degrees will get M42 and M45 in, not a lot will get all M31 in view - for that buy another scope.
