Stargazing Live 2014 at the Norman Lockyer Observatory

Recommended Posts

The Norman Lockyer Observatory in Sidmouth, Devon are holding an open evening in conjunction with the BBC Stargazing Live on Thursday 9th January 2014. There will be talks, planetarium shows, radar meteor detecting, space weather today from our VLF receiver, historic telescope tours with viewing if clear. There will also be equipment advice available and if the weather is reasonable, several members will have their gear set up outside.

Latest weather shows still quite breezy and showers for Thursday so looks like we will be lucky to see much through our scopes.

Plenty to see at the Lockyer Technology Centre though, SID and CME detections, weather satellite images, live optical and radio meteor detections.

Hope to see some of you guys and gals there !
