Fun with number while driving and observing!

Hello,

We had our family come and stay with us for the x mas holidays and I introduced them to my new passion. (astronomy)
During our sessions, I found it hard to explain the distances to the planets / objects we where viewing.

So I created a small table to try to make the distances relevant. I.e how long would it take to drive to them on the motorway.

Hmmmm.... nearly five months to get to the moon? I reckon with NASA backing I could get there in 3 days max - and that's on "A roads" lol :)

Yes, it is calculated at a paltry 120Km/h (for the europeans) or 75mph for the UK. We all know we exceed the speed limit :)

No rocket powered cars allowed on our roads yet!
