Sunspots after a great night!

I took this shot of the Sun on the 29th December after a brilliant night of observing DSO's    - seeing the Horsehead (just!) from home, a hint of spiral in M33, and, and...

My processing seems so slow at the moment that I've just done the most interesting chunk rather than the whole disc...

I stacked 440 frames out of 1700. More importantly, have a Happy New Year - pop!

I've just noticed that I processed the image in 8 bits throughout by accident. How odd - last time I did that I couldn't get anywhere in 8 bits, though as far as I remember, that shot was particularly blurry.
