M41 in the bag

As was going to bed looked out the bedroom window and could see Sirius burning bright to the south. Got the bins out ( 10 x56 ed) and could clearly make out m41( even better with averted vision) Swept back up to Orion and got a great dusty view of M42.

I think I'm hooked.

I only learned of M41's existence 20 minutes ago or so in reading another post.  Learning that it is located almost due south of Sirius, I decided to have a look; Sirius is visible from my front stoop.  I went downstairs, put on my jacket, grabbed my binoculars, 10x50, and stepped outside only to discover that the sky has clouded over.  A bummer.  :-)
