Comet Lovejoy 15th Dec

Thee forecast was right again for a change, so another 5am trip down the garden for an hours worth of 2 mins subs on Lovejoy again.

And a quick and dirty mosaic because it was close(ish) to M13, just for fun.

Ignore the huge gradient - the moon was still quite high. M13 at the top, Lovejoy at the bottom.

Love the detail in the tail, with my binoculars all I could make out was a faint hint that the tail was there

Excellent shot and so nice to see more of what I couldn't make out yesterday morning!  That is some tail in the picture!  I was guessing at its angle when observing.  With a 130P I was getting best results with a 12mm at 54x.
