voeole
Thinking about bying Celestron Neximage camera. Is it a good choice for the begginer,or there is a good alternative?
CSM
Looking at the reviews on this camera one starts off by sayingThe Celestron NexImage uses the same image sensor as the Philips Toucam range of PC webcams – probably the most popular PC webcam to adapt for astro imaging. And if it performs as well as the Phillips it will certainly work well. But it is essentially a webcam for Solar System imaging rather than a CCD camera which could be used for Deep Sky objects like nebulae and galaxies. If you want that then you will have to spend a bit more for something like the Orion G3 Deep Space CCD camera.
Christopher Davenport
This is not a bad choice. I personally opted for the QHY5 ii as it has a guiding port build in.Thus later once you get serious you can use it as a guide cam. Just a thought
