Should I change my Barlow?

Hello folks,

I posted in the eyepiece section about this, but I haven't had many responses, so I thought I would put it here.

Currently own a Celestron Ultima 2x barlow, but having changed my diagonal a few months ago to a 2" one and also having some eyepieces that are also 2" capable, maybe the Ultima is now a bit redundant as it is 1.25 and nothing else.

I love the flexibility of my gear and the fact that it can switch from 1.25 to 2" and back again. That is why I have been looking at this.http://www.firstligh...25x-barlow.html

It is a premium barlow, but with the inclusion of the adapter, you can switch from 1.25 to 2" eyepieces, thus keeping it's flexibility in my set-up. I would just then sell my Ultima to part fund the new barlow. Money isn't an issue. I just want the best one I can get, but which is also flexible within my overall set up.

Has anyone else got the Luminos barlow? Would love to know the verdict.

You didn't disclose that money wasn't and issue last time.

And it can make a big difference to your decision making process.

Armed with the new information, I would recommend a multi-element Barlow every time - so go for it.

I have a 32mm single element Barlow I got second hand and it's all but useless.

Whereas the 32mm multi-element Revelation Barlow is excellent.

If £114 is affordable, I can't see what you are waiting for.

+1....   I just bought the Revelation Astro 2.5 second hand on Reeny's advice. The build quality is stunning. The weather doesn't allow me to try it out  just yet.

Hi Reeny, not sure what you mean by a 32mm Barlow?

32mm is 1.25" I think thats what he means.
