What has the BBC done to the Sky at Night Now!! A new presenter!

I could not believe this when I saw it.

I am sure she is a nice person but find her style on TV very irritating indeed.

Sir Patrick was a little eccentric and I think Maggie is too, she has an excitement and Passion and is also in touch with the younger audience my daughter has heard of her so that's a big yes for me.

The show carries on and that's all that matters

I am just happy that the show is continuing a female presenter is a good choice too. I can remember Sir P in his early shows an inspired choice but not TV friendly at 1st but the enthusiasm shone through.

I have to admit (and I've said so before) that I find her on-screen style a bit irritating in the documentaries I've seen, but perhaps the different format will suit her better.  Can't fault the choice in terms of enthusiasm for the topic though.  I wonder why they felt the need for an additional presenter?  Perhaps Lucie Green wants to take more of a back seat or wasn't considered engaging enough?  I do hope not; I enjoy the parts of the programme she's presented.

I really like Maggie. Great choice.

You have to remember the Sky at Night is the front gate for many adults and children who have a burgeoning interest in astronomy. Enthusiastic, charismatic presenters with a considerable amount of cerebral matter compared to others, is a must.

With the amount of quality programming the BBC are offering though factual documentaries (Have been watching the Pilgrim series and I am really enjoying it), they seem to be on the ball at the moment.

I think that the right presenters and not annoying the viewers too much are very important considerations for the longevity of the programme.

I can see the audience shrinking if she stays.

I think we need to give her a chance before demanding a replacement!

She obviously has a lot of knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the subject and this can only be a good thing. I warmed to the last presenters so I hope that the new combination will manage to entice new watchers as well as stimulating the previous ones. I am looking forward to February (but still wishing it was on in January.....)

I find her informative and interesting - just mildly irritating in style but tollerable. If they'd given us eye candy I would have missed half the content lol.

On balance - it's the info that's important - I can always watch Strictly for the eye candy and have the best of both worlds.

(Heaven forfend if Keith Lemon ever came near the show)

I found her defence in needing to keep the Sky at Night, when losing it was a possibility, very weak.

She doesn't seem sharp enough for me.

Better that though than losing TSAN although i hope she doesn't put veiwers off giving the BBC justification to stop the program due to poor viewing figures.

There is no choice but to listen ... close your eyes if you want, you have to listen.... and this presenter has me reaching for the channel change button wherever I encounter her dreadful staccato delivery.

Good choice, I think that she has a spirited and bubbly personality and I found her to be quite engaging in the 'Do We Need the Moon' documentary. I think she specialises in lunar science? which of course was a particular passion of Sir Patricks.
