Dark Horizon

Another go at M81

Recommended Posts

Hi folks this one is a bit better than my first image of 6 years, but the conditions were pants, which contributed to some teething issues...

This one comprises only the 5 better frames outta the 15 That I captured.

So, 5 x 7min subs, no filters (127mm Triplet and atik 428ex) stacked in DSS and fiddled with in photoshop.

Hope you like. post-16115-0-45670900-1386704863_thumb.j

Very nice again.  You've slightly overstretched it and burned out the core though.  A common problem with M81 and M31 too.  A nice image all the same though!

Cheers for the input folk. That core will become much easier to control when I have more data to play with, kirkster, but thanks for highlighting it cos I'd not really spotted that I'd pushed it too far. I'll do better next time (fingers crossed). :)
