Jupiter - 6th December - not great

Recommended Posts

Inspired by Neil Phillips I've decided to post a quick process of my Jupiter avi's from early this morning of the 6th December. I don't think the seeing was optimal for planetary imaging. These images are not great and not the best images I have taken but I think its showing the effect of the current prevailing atmospheric conditions on planetary imaging - also there is a tendency to use the forum to showcase only our best images which may not be the best for those of us, like me, in the learning process. I think there a benefit to posting all levels of quality whether you are a beginner or an expert troubled by poor atmospheric conditions. I have no idea where I am on the scale !

This is 10,000 odd frames from a DFK, PIPP for centreing and debayering, AS!2 for stacking and RG5 for wavelets. Scope CPC800 at f20. 3 min avi y800 codec

That's a nice image. Hopefully the best is yet to come!

Best regards,

Looks good to me. Is that a moon to the right?

Thanks. Yes I think it's Io.

Thanks for the comments. It has turned out better than I expected. I had a bit too much of the old vino last night so I'm going to see if I can re-process. It's the lack of detail I'm disappointed with, especially in the central areas.
