Help need a cable.

Hi All.

I have recently acquired a Synscan handset and need to connect it to my EQ6 mount which has been upgraded to GOTO. The mount has a DB9 female socket on t and the handset has what looks like a RJ45 and RJ11 ports. I assume that its the RJ11 port I need to connect to.

Where can I get a cable for this or is there a Wiring diagram so I can make one.

Many thanks.

Does the bottom of the handset look like this?

On a standard goto set up, the left hand socket connects to the mount via an rj45 to rj45 lead. The middle port is to connect to a lead which has a serial connector on the other end, used for updating the handset and some other funky stuff. The right one is to power the handset on its own.

Have a look on the skywatcher website in he download section and look for the handbook which accompanies the synscan handset, i think there are wiring diagrams there. Also check the upgrade motor literature to see if anything is there which is not the same as a factory made goto mount.

Good luck.

James
