IC 342 - Comparison Canon 350D and Atik 16HR

First image 350D , second image Atik 16HR.

I had problems aligning the Atik frames due to some rotation between the combined Red,Blue frames.Hence not all the stars have the colour components aligned correctly.

Funny, the 350d actually looks finer, better colour and contrast.

Could be your processing?

I only gave the red/blue filters 50 mins. With an aperture of only 130mm it needed more time.

One factor is I am not as experienced using the Atik as am using the Canon. I think I have not got the processing correct yet.

The cannon image looks much cleaner but it is a bit deceptive because the Atik is a closer up view. There is more detail in the Atik image. Did you bin the colour? Is the colour LRGB or just RGB and what were the exposure details for the 2 images? Sorry about all the questions John but this is all very interesting. BTW, I would love to have a play with your Atik subs - the combined individual channels. Any chance of uploading them???
