ok it doesnt have the cable but still a decent buy consider these go for nearly £100 on ABS

Other than the cable do you need anything else to operate the motors ?

It doesn't say which version. If it is a v2 it will only work with the eq synscan or syntrek mounts. If you are looking to upgrade an eq mount that doesn't have goto you still need the full upgrade kit.

when I see a skywatcher for sale with motorised mount upgrade do these motors track at lunar, planetary and deep sky or are they just press and hold motors..

How odd.  Sold nothing for eight years and then turns up with four synscan handsets.

It depends which type of motorized mount. The basic single axis or dual axis systems ( non goto ) track at sidereal rate and maybe a couple of faster rates to give a bit of extra control over the slewing. The full goto system ( Syncan ) has multiple tracking rates ( solar, lunar ,sidereal) . With both types of mount the mount tracks at sidereal rate automatically without pressing buttons.
